Artikel 28. 
Abrechnung. 
Die Abrechnung über den Korrespon- 
denzverkehr wird monatlich aufgestellt 
und zwar von der Norddeutschen Post- 
verwaltung für die Kartenschlüsse aus dem 
Vereinigten Königreich und von der Bri- 
tischen Postverwaltung für die Karten- 
schlüsse aus Norddeutschland. 
Die in dieser Weise aufgestellten Rech- 
nungen werden gegenseitig geprüft und 
demnächst monatlich von der Groß- 
britannischen Postverwaltung für beide 
Richtungen in eine General-Abrechnung 
zusammengefaßt. Der Abschluß der mo- 
natlichen Abrechnung ist in der Währung 
desjenigen Gebietes auszudrücken, für 
welches sich eine Forderung herausstellt. 
Die hiernach nöthig werdenden Reduk- 
tionen der einen Währung in die andere 
erfolgen beiderseits nach dem festen Ver- 
hältniß von 1 Thaler gleich 3 Schillingen. 
Nach Feststellung der General-Abrech- 
nung soll die Zahlung vorbehaltlich 
etwaiger Notate monatlich erfolgen, und 
zwar: 
1) in Wechseln auf Berlin, wenn eine 
Forderung für die Norddeutsche Post- 
verwaltung entfällt, 
2) in Wechseln auf London, wenn eine 
Forderung für die Britische Post- 
verwaltung entfällt. 
Die durch die Leistung der Zahlung 
entstehenden Kosten werden stets von der 
zahlenden Verwaltung getragen. 
Den beiderseitigen Postverwaltungen 
bleibt vorbehalten, die Modalitäten der 
Abrechnung im gegenseitigen Einverständ- 
nisse des Näheren zu bestimmen und die 
im gegenwärtigen. Artikel getroffenen Ver- 
abredungen nach Maaßgabe des wechseln- 
den Bedürfnisses und auf Grund des- 
fallsiger Verständigung abzuändern. 
Article 28. 
Accounts. 
The account ofthe correspondence 
exchanged shall be prepared monthly 
by the North German Post Office as 
regards the mails from the United 
Kingadom, and by the British Post 
Office as regards the mails from North 
Germany. 
The accounts so prepared shall be 
mutually examined and shall then 
be embodied in a general account 
monthly by the British Post Office 
for the mails in both (iirections. 
The balance of the monthly ac- 
count is to be expressed in the cur- 
rrency of that country to which the 
Payment is shown to be due. 
The necessary) reductions from one 
currency to the other shall be com- 
puted at the fiukxed equivalent of one 
thaler to three shillings. 
According to the result of the ge- 
neral account, the payment shall be 
effected, subject to corrections, 
monthly as follows: 
1) By bills of exchange on Berlin 
if the balance be in favour of 
the North German Post Oftfice; 
2) By bills of exchange on London 
if the balance be in favour of 
the British Post Office. 
The expenses attending the remit- 
tance of the balance shall invariably) 
be borne by the Post Ollice having 
to make the payment. 
The two Post Offices reserre to 
themselves the right of fxing by 
mutual agreement the forms ol ac- 
count, and of altering the stipula- 
tions of the present article, should 
the conditions of Exchange require 
it, and by agreement to that effect.
