Article  142.

ILAlemagne  déclare  accepter  toutes  les  conséqduences
  de  I’établissement,  reconnu  par  elle,  du
PDrotectorat  de  la  France  au  Maroc  et  renoncer  au
régime  des  capitulations  au  Maroc.

Cette  renonciation  prendra  date  du  3  acoüt
1914.

Arkicke  143.

Le  Gouvernecment  chériflen  aura  une  entidbre
liberté  Taction  pour  régler  le  statut  et  les  conditions
  de  I’établissement  des  ressortissants  allemands
  au  Maroc.

Les  protégés  allemands,  les  censauf  et  les
associẽs  agricoles  allemands  seront  considérés
Ccomme  ayant  cessé,  à  partir  du  3  aoũt  1914,  de
jouir  des  privilèges  atlachés  à  ces  qualités  pour
öre  soumis  au  droit  commun.

Article  144.
Tous  les  biens  et  propriétés  de  I’Empire  et  des
Etats  allemande  dans  IEmpire  chériffen  passent
de  plein  droit  au  Maghzen,  sans  aucune  indemnité.

A  cet  6gard,  les  biens  et  propriétés  de
IEmpire  et  des  Etats  allemands  seront  considérés
comme  comprenant  toutes  les  propriétés  de  la
Couronne,  de  I’Empire  et  des  Etats  allemandes,
ainsi  que  les  biens  privés  de  I’ex-empereur  d’Allemagne
  et  des  autres  personnes  royales.

Tous  les  biens,  meubles  et  immeubles  appartenant,
  dans  I’Empire  chérilen,  à  des  ressortissants
  allemands  scront  traités  conformément
aux  Sections  III  et  IV  de  la  Partie  X  (Clauses
économiques)  du  présent  Traité.

Les  droits  miniers  qdui  seraient  reconnus  à
des  ressortissants  allemands  par  le  Tribunal
arbitral  institus  en  vertu  du  reglement  minier
marocain,  seront  Tobiet  d'uns  estimation
Pécunieire  qui  gera  demandée  à  Tarbitre;  ces
droits  suivront  ensuite  le  sort  des  biens  appartenant
  au  Maroc  à  des  ressortissants  allemands.

Arkicle  142.
Germany  having  recognized  the  French
Protectorate  in  Morocco,  hereby  accepts  all  the
consequences  of  its  establisliment,  and  ehe

renounces  the  régime  of  the  capitulations

therein.
This  renunciation  shall  take  elfect  as  from
August  3,  1914.

Article  143.

The  Sheriffan  Government  shall  have  complete
liberty  of  action  in  regulating  the  status  of
German  nationals  in  Morocco  and  the  conditions
in  which  they  may  establish  themselves  there.

German  protected  persons,  semsars  and
"associés  agricoles'  shall  be  considered  as  having
ceased,  as  from  August  3,  1914,  to  enioy  the
privileges  attached  to  their  status  and  shall  be
subject  to  the  ordinary  law.

Article  144.
All  property  and  possessions  in  the  Sherifian

Empire  of  the  German  Empire  and  the  Cerman
States  pass  to  the  Maghzen  without  payment.

For  this  purpose,  the  property  and  possessions
of  the  German  Empire  and  the  States  shall  be

deemed  to  include  all  the  property  of  the  Croun,

the  Empire  or  the  States,  and  the  private  property
of  the  former  German  Emperor  and  other  Royal
Personages.

All  movable  and  iminovable  property  in  the
Sherilian  Empire  belonging  to  German  nationals
ehall  be  dealt  with  in  accordance  with  Seections
  III  and  IV  of  Part  X  (Economic  Clauses)
of  the  present  Treaty.

Mining  rights  which  may  be  recognised  asbelonging
  to  German  nationals  by  the  Court  of
Arbitration  sct  up  under  the  Moroccan  Mining
Regulations  shall  form  the  subject  of  a  valuation,
  whlch  the  arbitrators  shall  be  requested  to
make,  and  these  rights  shall  then  be  treated  in
the  same  way  as  property  in  Morocco  belonging
to  German  nationals.
