la  date  du  ler  juillet  1914,  à  moins  due  la  meme
restriction  ne  soit  6galement  imposée  à  ses  propres
  nationaux.

Article  277.

Les  ressortissants  des  Puissances  alliées  et
associées  jouiront  sur  le  territoire  allemand,
d’une  constante  protection,  pour  leur  personne,
leurs  biens,  droits  et  intérẽts  et  auront  libre  accès
devant  les  tribunaux.  «

Article  278.

L'Allemagne  s'engage  à  reconnatftre  la  nouvelle
  nationalité  qui  aurait  été  ou  serait  acquise
par  ses  ressortissants  d’après  les  lois  des  Puissances
  alliées  ou  associées  et  conformément  aux
décisions  des  autorités  compétentes  de  ces  Puissancos,
  soit  par  voie  de  naturalisation,  soit  par
Teffet  d’une  clause  d’un  trailé  et  à  déegager  à  tous
les  points  de  vue  ces  ressortissants,  en  raison  de
cette  acquisition  de  nouvelle  nationalité,  de  toute
allégeance  vis-à-vis  de  leur  Etat  d’origine.

Arkiele  279.

Los  Puissances  allices  et  asscciées  pourront
nommer  des  consuls  générauz,  consuls,  vice-consuls
  et  agents  consulaires  dans  les  villes  et  ports
d’Allemagne.  L'’Allemagne  s'’engage  à  approuver
la  designation  de  cos  consule  généraux,  consuls,
vice-Consuls  ot  agents  Consulaires,  dont  les  noms
lui  seront  notifiés,  et  à  les  admettre  à  I’exercice
de  leurs  fonctions  conformément  aux  regles  et
usages  habituels.

Article  280.

Les  obligations,  imposées  à  PAllemagne  par
lo  Chapitre  1  et  par  les  articles  271  et  272  du

Arkicke  277.

The  nationals  of  the  Alliod  and  Associated
Powers  shall  enjoy  in  German  territor  a
constant  protection  for  their  persons  and  for
thoir  property,  rights  and  interests,  and  shall
huve  free  access  to  the  courts  of  law.

Arkicke  278.

Germany  undertakes  to  recognise  any  new
nationality  which  has  beon  or  may  be  acauired
by  her  nationals  under  the  laws  of  the  Allied  and
Associated  Powers  and  in  accordance  with  the
decisions  of  the  competent  authorities  of  these
Powers  pursuant  to  naturalisation  laws  or  under
treaty  stipulations,  and  to  regard  such  porsons
as  having,  in  consequence  of  the  acquieition  ot
such  now  nationality,  in  all  respects  severed  their
allegiance  to  their  éountry  of  origin.

Article  279.

The  Allied  and  Associated  Powers  may
appoint  consuls-general,  consuls,  vico-consuls,  and
consular  agents  in  German  towns  and  ports.
Germany  undertakes  to  approve  the  designation
of  the  consuls-general,  consuls,  vice-consuls,  and
consular  agonts,  whose  names  sbhall  be  notilied
to  her,  and  to  admit  them  to  the  exercise  of  their
functions  in  conformity  with  the  usual  rules  and
customs.
