Chapitro  II  ei-dessus,  cesseront  d'õtro  en  vigueur
cing  ans  après  la  date  de  la  mise  en  vigueur  du
présent  Traité,  à  moins  due  le  contraire  résulte
du  texte  ou  que  le  Conseil  de  la  Société  des  Naacions
  décide,  douze  mois  au  moins  avant  Texpiration
  de  cette  période,  que  ces  obligations  seront

maintenues  pour  une  Période  subséquente  avec

ou  sans  amendement.

Larticle  276  du  Chapitre  IV  restera  en  vigueur
  apreès  cotte  Période  de  cind  ans,  avec  ou
sans  amendement,  pour  telle  période,  s’il  en  est
une,  que  firera  la  majorité  du  Conseil  de  la  Société
  des  Nations,  et  qui  ne  pourra  dépasser  cind
annes.

Article  281.

Si  le  Gouvernement  allemand  se  livre  au
Commerce  international,  il  waura,  à  ce  point  de
vus,  ni  ne  sera  considéré  avoir  aucun  des  droits,
Privilèges  et  immunités  de  la  souveraineté.

SECTION  u.
TRAILES  4·

Artiecle  282.

Des  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent  Traité  et.
sous  réserve  des  dispositions  qui  y  sont  contenues,
les  traités,  conventions  et  accorde  plurilatéraux,
de  caractère  économique  ou  technique,  énumérés
ci-après  et  aux  articles  suivants,  soront  seuls
appliqucs  entre  DAllemagne  et  celles  des
Puissances  alliées  et  asscciées  qui  y  sont  parties:

1.  Conventions  du  14  mars  1884,  du  (or
décembre  1886  et  du  23  mars  1887  et  Protocole
de  clöture  du  7  juillet  1887,  relatifes  à  la  protection
des  cübles  sousmarins;

2°%  Convention  du  11  octobre  1909,  relative  à  la
circulation  internationale  des  automobiles;

3°  Accord  du  15  mai  1886,  relatif  au  plombage
des  wagons  assujettis  à  la  douane  et  Protocole  du
18  mai  1907;

4%  Accord  du  15  mai  1886,  relatif  à  P’unité
lechnique  des  chemins  de  fer;

Chapter  II  above  shall  cease  to  have  elffect  five
Fears  from  the  date  of  the  coming  into  force  of
the  present  Treaty,  unless  otherwise  provided  in
the  text,  or  unless  the  Council  of  the  League  of
Nations  shall,  at  least  twelve  months  before  the
eexpiration  of  that  period,  decide  that  these
obligations  shall  be  maintained  for  a  further
period  with  or  without  amendment.

aAarticle  276  of  Chapter  IV  shall  romain  in
operation,  with  or  without,  amendment,  after  the
period  of  five  years  for  such  further  period,  if
any,  not  oxceeding  fve  years,  as  may  be
determined  by  a  majority  of  the  Council  of  the
League  of  Nations.

Articke  281.

I  the  German  Government  engages  in  international
  trade,  it.  shall  not  in  respect  thereot
have  or  be  deemed  to  have  any  rights,  privileges,
or  immunities  of  sovereignty.

SECTILON  II.
TREATTIES.

Article  282.

From  the  coming  into  force  of  the  present
Treaty  and  subject  to  the  provisions  thereof  tho
multilateral  treaties,  conventions  and  agreements
  of  an  economic  or  technical  character
enumerated  below  and  in  the  subsequent  Articles
shall  alone  be  applied  as  between  Germany  and
those  of  the  Allied  and  Associated  Powers  party
thereto:

1.  Conventions  of  March  14,  1884,  December  1,
1886,  and  March  23,  1887,  and  Final  Protocol  of
July  7,  1887,  regarding  the  protection  of  submarine
  cables.

2.  Convontion  of  October  11,  1909,  regarding
the  international  circulation  of  motor-Cars.

3.  Agreement  of  May  15,  1886,  regarding  the
sealing  of  railway  trucks  subjiect  to  customs
inspection,  and  Protocol  of  May  18,  1907.

4.  Agreement  of  May  15,  1886,  regarding  the
technical  standardisation.  of  railways.
