intérõta  des  ressortissants  des  Puissances  alliées
ou  associées,  y  Compris  les  sociétés  et  associations
dans  lesquelles  ces  ressortissants  étaient  intéressés,
  seront  immédiatement  levées  ou  arrsétées
lorsque  la  liquidation  n'en  aura  pas  été  terminée,
et  les  biens,  droits  et  intéréts  dont  il  s'agit  seront
restitués  aux  ayants  droit,  qui  en  auront  la  pleine
iouissancee  dans  les  conditions  fixées  par
Tarticle  298.

b)  Sous  réserve  des  dispositions  contraires
qui  pourraient  résulter  du  présent  Traité,  les
Puissances  alliées  ou  associées  se  réservent  le
droit  de  retenir  et  de  liquider  tous  les  biens,  droits.
et  intéersts  appartenant,  à  la  date  de  la  mise  en
vigueur  du  présent  Traité,  à  des  ressortissants
eallemands  ou  des  sociétés  contrölées  par  eux  sur
leur  territoire,  dang  leurs  colonies,  possessions  et
pays  de  protectorat,  y  compris  les  territoires  qui
leur  ont  ét6  cédés  en  vertu  du  présent  Traité.

La  liquidation  aura  lieu  conformément  aux
lois  de  I’Etat  allié  ou  assccié  intéressé  et  le  propriétaire
  allemand  ne  pourra  disposer  de  ces  biens,
droits  et  intérets,  ni  les  grever  d’aucune  charge,
sans  le  consentement  de  cet  Etat.

Ne  seront  pas  considérés,  au  gens  du  présent
Paragraphe,  comme  ressortissants  allemands,  les
ressortissants  allemands  qui  acquièrent  de  plein
droit  la  nationalité  d'une  Puissance  alliée  ou
associée,  par  application  du  présent  Traité.

c)  Les  prix  ou  indemnites  résultant  de  Pexer--cice
  du  droit  visé  au  paragraphe  5)  seront  fixés.
daprès  les  modes  d'évaluation  et  de  liquidation
déterminés  par  la  Igislation  du  pays,  dans  lequel
les  biens  ont  été  retenus  ou  liquidés.

d)  Dans  les  rapports  entre  les  Puissances
alliées  ou  associées  ou  leurs  ressortissants  d’une
Dart,  et  PAllemagne  ou  ses  ressortissants  d’autre
Part,  seront  considérées  comme  définitives  et
opposables  A  toute  personne,  sous  les  réserves
prévues  au  présent  Traité,  tontes  mesures  exceptionnelles
  de  guerre  ou  de  disposition,  ou  actes.

of  Allied  or  Associated  Powers,  including  com-Panies
  and  associations  in  which  they  are  interested,
  when  liquidation  has  not  been  completed,
shall  be  immediately  discontinued  or  stayed  and
the  property,  rights  and  interests  concerned
restored  to  their  owners,  who  shall  enjoy  full
rights  therein  in  accordance  with  the  provisions
of  Article  298.

(5)  Subject  to  any  contrary  stipulations  wbich
may  be  provided  for  in  the  present  Treaty,  tbe
KAllied  and  Associated  Powers  reserve  the  right
to  retain  and  liquidate  all  property,  rights  and
interests  belonging  at  tbe  date  of  the  coming  into
force  of  the  present  Treaty  to  German  nationals,
or  companies  controlled  by  them,  within  their
territories,  colonies,  possessions  and  protectorates,
  including  territories  ceded  to  them  by  the
Present  Treaty.

The  liquidation  shall  be  carried  out  in
eaccordance  with  the  laws  of  the  Allied  or.
Associated  State  concerned,  and  the  German
owner  shall  not  be  able  to  dispose  of  such  property,
  rights  or  interests  nor  to  subject  them  to
any  charge  without  the  consent  of  that  State.

CGerman  nationals  who  acquire  ipso  facto  the
nationality  of  an  Allied  or  Associated  Power  in
accordance  with  the  provisions  of  the  present
Treaty  will  net  be  considered  as  German  nationale
  within  the  meaning  of  this  paragraph.

(c)  The  price  or  the  amount  of  compensation
in  respect  of  tho  oxercise  of  the  right  referred  to
in  the  preceding  paragraph  (5)  will  be  flzed  in
accordance  with  the  methods  of  sale  or  valuation
adopted  by  the  laws  of  the  country  in  which  the
property  hee  been  retained  or  liquidated.

(d)  Ae  between  the  Allied  and  Associated
Powers  or  their  nationals  on  the  one  hand  and
Germany  or  her  nationals  on  the  other  band,
all  the  exceptional  war  measures,  or  meansures
of  transfer,  or  acts  done  or  to  be  done  in  execution
  of  such  measures  as  delined  in  paragraphs  1
and  8  of  the  Annex  hereto  shall  be  considered.
