Si  la  législation  d'une  des  Puissances  alliées
ou  associées,  en  vigueur  aumoment  de  la  signature
du  présent  Traité,  n'en  a  pas  disposs  autrement,  les
sommes  dues  ou  payées,  par  application  de  tout
acte  et  de  toute  opération  effectués  en  exécution
des  mesures  spéciales  visées  A  Talinéa  1  du
présent  articlo,  recevront  la  méme  affectation  que
les  autres  créances  des  ressortissants  allemands,
conformement  aux  dispositions  du  présent  Traité
et  les  Sommes  produites  par  des  mesures  spéciales
prises  par  le  Gouvernement  allemand  en  ce  qui
concerne  les  droits  de  propriété  imndustrielle,
littéraire  ou  artistiqgue  des  ressortissants  a
Puissances  allices  ou  associées,  geront  considérées
et  traitées  comme  toutes  les  antres  dettes  des
ressortissants  allemands.

Chacune  des  Puissances  alliées  ou  associées
se  réserre  la  faculté  Tapporter  aux  droits  de
Propriété  industrielle,  litteraire  ou  artistique  (à
Texception  des  marques  de  fabrique  ou  de  commerce)
  acquis  avent  la  guerre,  ou  pendant  sa
durée,  ou  qui  seraient  acquis  ultérieurement,
suivant  sa  législation  par  des  ressortissants  allemands,
  soit  en  leg  exploitant,  soit  en  accordant
des  licences  pour  leur  exploitation,  soit  en
conserrant  le  contröle  de  cette  exploitation,  soit
autrement,  telles  limitations,  conditions  ou
restrictions  qui  pourraient  ẽtre  considérées
comme  nécessaires  pour  les  besoins  de  la  défense
nationale,  ou  dans  L’intérst  public,  ou  pour
assurer  un  traitement  Cquitable  par  IAllemagne
des  droits  de  propriété  industrielle,  littéraire  ou
artistique  possédés  sur  le  territoire  allemand
par  ses  ressortissants,  ou  pour  garantir  l'entier
eaccomplissement  de  toutes  les  obligations  contractées
  par  IAllemagne  en  vertu  du  présent
Trailé.  Pour  les  droits  de  propriété  industrielle,
lit  séraire  ou  artistiquc,  qui  seraient  acquis  apreès
In  mise  en  vigucur  du  présent  Traité,  la  faculté  eidessus
  résertée  uux  Puissances  alliées  et  ussocices,
ne  pourra  ölre  edercée  due  dans  le  Cas  ou  les  limilations,
  Cconditions  ou  restrictions  pourraient  étre
considérões  comme  necessaires  pour  les  besoins  de
la  défenso  nationale  ou  de  Pintérst  public.

Unless  the  legislalion  of  any  onc  of  the  Alliod
or  Associated  Powers  in  force  at  the  moment  of  tho
signature  of  the  present  Treaty  otherwise  directs,
Sums  due  or  paid  in  virtue  of  any  act  or  operation
resulting  from  the  execution  of  the  special  measures
  mentioned  in  paragraph  1  of  this  Articlo
shall  be  dealt  with  in  the  same  way  as  other  sums
due  to  German  nationals  are  directed  to  be  dealt
with  by  tbe  present  Treaty;  and  sums  produced  by
any  special  measures  taken  by  the  German  Government
  in  respect  of  rights  in  industrial,
literary  or  artistic  property  belonging  to  the
nationals  of  the  Allied  or  Associated  Powers
shall  be  considered  and  treated  in  the  same  way
as  other  debts  due  from  German  nationals.

Each  of  the  Allied  and  Associated  Powers
resorves  to  itself  the  right  to  impose  such  limitations,
  conditions  or  restrictions  on  rights  of
industrial,  literary,  or  artistic  property  (with
the  erxception  of  trade-marks)  acquired  before
or  during  the  war,  or  which  may  be  subsequontly
acquired  in  accordance  wilh  its  legislation,  by
German  nationals,  whether  by  granting  licences,
or  by  the  working,  or  by  preserving  control  over
their  exploitation,  or  in  any  other  way,  as  may
be  considered  necessary  for  national  delence,  or
in  the  public  interest,  or  for  assuring  the  foir
treatment  by  Germany  ol  tho  rights  of  industrial,
literarr  and  artistic  property  held  in  German
territory  by  its  nationals,  or  for  securing  the  due
fulfilment  of  all  the  obligations  undertaken  by
Germauy  in  the  present  Treaty.  As  regards  rights
ol  industrial,  literary  and  artistic  property  acquired
  after  the  coming  into  force  of  tho  present  TreatF,
  the  right  so  reserved  by  the  Allied  and  Associated
  Powers  shall  only  be  exercised  in  cuses
where  these  limitations,  conditions  or  restrictions
may  be  considered  necessary  for  national  delence
or  in  the  public  interest.
