Artiele  338.

Le  régime  formulé  dans  les  articles  332  à  337
ci-dessus  sera  remplacé  par  celui  qui  sera  institus
dans  une  Convention  générale  à  établir  par  les
Puissances  alliées  et  associées  et  approuvée  par
la  Société  des  Nations,  relarivement  aux  voies
navigables  dont  ladite  Convention  reconnattrait
lo  Caractere  international.  Cette  Convention
pourra  s'appliquer  notamment  à  tout  ou  partie
des  réseauxf  Huviaux  de  IElbe  (Labe),  de  I’Oder
(Odra),  du  Niemen  (Russstrom-Memel-Wiemen),
et  du  Danube  ci-dessus  mentionnés,  ainsi  qdu’aux
autres  éGléments  desdits  réseaux  fluviaux  qui  pourraient
  y  ètre  compris  dans  une  définition  générale.

L'Allemagne  s'engage,  conformément  aux  dis-Positions
  de  T’article  379,  à  adhérer  à  ladite  Convention
  générale,  ainsi  qu'à  tous  projets  de
revision  des  accords  internationaux  et  règlements
en  vigueur,  stablis  comme  il  est  dit  à  Tarticle  343
ci-après*.

Arkicle  339.

L'Allemagne  cédera  aux  Puissances  alliées  et
associées  intéressées,  dans  le  délai  maximum  de
trois  mois  après  la  notification  qui  lui  en  sera
faite,  une  partie  des  remorqueurs  et  des  bateaux
qui  resteront  immatriculés  dans  les  ports  des
résenux  fluviaux  visés  à  Tarticle  331,  après  les
Prélsvements  à  opérer  à  titre  de  restitution  ou  de
réparation.  L'Allemagne  Ccédera  de  meme  le
mateériel  de  toute  nature  nécessaire  aux  Puissances
  alliées  et  asscciées  intéressées  pour  PTutilisation
  de  ces  réseaux.

Le  nombre  des  remorqueurs  et  bateaux  et
T’importance  du  matériel  cédés,  ainsi  due  leur
répartition,  seront  déterminés  par  un  ou  plusieurs
arbitres  désignés  par  les  Etats-Unis  d’Amérique,

Arttele  338.

The  régime  set  out  in  Articles  332  to  337
above  shall  be  superseded  by  one  to  be  laid  dovn
in  a  General  Convention  drawn  up  by  the  Allied
and  Associated  Powers,  and  approved  by  tho
League  of  Nations,  relating  to  the  waterways  recognised
  in  such  Convention  as  having  an  international
  character.  This  Convention  shall
apply  in  particular  to  the  whole  or  part  of  the
above-mentioned  river  systems  of  the  Elbe
(Tabe),  the  Oder  (Odra),  the  Niemen  (Russstrom-Memel-Niemen),
  and  the  Danube,  and  such
other  parts  of  these  river  systems  as  may  be
covered  by  a  general  definiticn.

Germany  undertakes,  in  accordance  with  the
provisions  of  Article  379,  to  adhere  to  the  said
General  Convention  as  well  as  to  all  projecis
prepared  in  accordance  with  Article  343  below
for  the  revision  of  existing  international  agreements
  and  regulations.

Article  339.

Germany  shall  cede  to  the  Allied  and  Asscciated
  Powers  concerned,  within  a  maximum  period
  of  three  months  from  the  date  on  which
notifcation  shall  be  given  her,  a  proportion  of
the  tugs  and  vessels  remaining  registered  in  the
ports  of  the  river  systems  referred  to  in  Article
831  after  the  deduction  of  those  surrendered  by
Way  of  restitution  or  reparation.  Germany  sha.
in  the  same  way  cede  material  of  all  kinds  necessary
  to  the  Allied  and  Associated  Powers  concerned
  for  the  utilisation  of  those  river  systems.

The  number  of  the  tugs  and  boats,  and  the
amount  of  the  material  so  ceded,  and  their
distribution,  shall  be  determined  by  an  arbitrator
or  arbitrators  nominated  by  the  United  States  of
