1°  de  les  introduire  dans  les  trains  de  marchandiscs
  circulant  sur  les  lignes  de  celles  des
Puissances  alliées  et  associées  qdui  sont  parties
à  la  Convention  de  Berne  du  15  mai  1886,  modiliéce
  le  18  mai  1907,  sans  entraver  le  fonctionnement
  du  frein  continu  qui  pourrait,  dans  les  dix
ans  qui  suivront  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent
Traité,  ötre  adopté  dans  ces  pays;

20  Tintroduire  les  wagons  de  ces  Puissances
dans  tous  les  trains  de  marchandises  circulant  sur
les  lignes  allemandes.

Le  matériel  roulant  des  Puissances  alliées  et
associées  jouira,  sur  les  lignes  allemandes,  du
meme  traitement  due  le  matériel  allemand  en  co
qui  concerne  la  cireulation,  T’ontretien  et  les  ré-Darations.


CHAPTTRE  IHI.
CESSION  DE  LICNES  DE  CHESIINS  DE  FER.

Artiche  371.

Sous  réserve  de  stipulations  particulières,  re-Iatives
  à  la  cession  des  ports,  voies  d’eau  et  voies
Ierrées  situcs  dans  les  territoires  sur  lesquels
I'Allemagne  cède  sa  souveraineté,  ainsi  due  des
dispositions  financières  concernant  les  concessionnaires
  et  Io  service  des  pensions  de  retraite
du  personnel,  la  cession  des  voies  ferrées  aura
lieu  dans  les  conditions  suivantes:

%  Les  ouvrages  et  installations  de  toutes  les
voics  ferrées  seront  livrés  au  complet  et  en  bon
état.

20  Lorsqu'un  résenu  ayant  un  matériel  roulant
  à  lui  propre  sora  Ccédé  en  entier  par  I'Allomagne
  à  une  des  Puissances  alliées  et  asscciées,
co  matcricl  sera  remis  au  complet,  d’après  le  dernier
  inventaire  au  11  novembre  1918,  et  en  état,
normal  entretien.

3%  Pour  les  lignes  n'ayant  pas  un  matceriol
roulant  spécial,  la  fraction  à  livror  du  matériel
cxistant  sur  le  réscau,  auquel  ces  lignes  appar-1256

The  rolling  stock  of  the  Allied  and  Associated
Powers  shall  enjoy  on  the  German  lines  the  same
treatment  as  German  rolling  stock  as  regards
movement,  upkeep  and  repairs.

CHAPTER  III.
CESSIONS  OF  RAIWAT  LINES.

Article  371.

Subject  to  any  special  provisions  concerning
the  cession  of  ports,  waterways  and  railways  situated
  in  the  territories  over  which  Germany
abandons  her  sovereignty,  and  to  the  financial
conditions  relating  to  the  concessionnaires  and
the  pensioning  of  the  personnel,  the  cession  of
railways  will  take  place  under  the  following  conditions:


.  The  works  and  installations  of  all  the  railroads
  shall  be  handed  over  complete  and  in  good
condition.

2.  When  a  railway  system,  possessing  its  own
rolling-stock,  is  handed  over  in  its  entirety  by
Germany  to  one  of  the  Allied  and  Associatod.
Powers,  such  stock  shall  be  handed  over  complete,
  in  accordance  with  the  last  inventory  before
November  11,  1918,  and  in  a  normal  state  of
upkeecp.

3.  As  regards  lines  without  any  spccial  rolling-stock,
