PROTOCOILE.

En  vue  de  préciser  los  conditions  dans  lesduelles
  devront  étre  exécutées  certaines  clauses
du  Tralté  signé  à  la  date  de  ce  jour,  il  est  entendu
entre  les  Hautes  Parties  Contractantes  due:

1%  Une  Commission  sera  nommée  par  les
Principales  Euissances  allices  et  associées  pour
surveiller  la  démolition  des  fortifications  d’Héligoland
  en  conformité  du  Traité.  Cette  Commission
aura  qualité  pour  décider  quelle  partie  des  ouvrages
  protégeant  la  cöte  contre  les  érosions  de  la
mer  doit  stre  conservée  et  qduelle  partie  doit  stre
démolie;

2·  Les  sommes  due  PAllemagne  aurait  à
rembourser  à  ses  ressortissants  pour  les  indemniser
  des  parts  d'intéret  qu'ils  se  trouveraient
avoir  dans  les  chemins  de  fer  et  les  mines  visés  à

T’alinéa  2  de  Tarticle  156,  seront  portées  aucrédit

  de  IAllemagne  à  valoir  sur  les  sommes
dues  au  titre  des  réparations;

3°  La  liste  des  personnes  que,  conformément
à  Tarticlo  228,  alinéa  2,  IAllemagne  devra  livrer
aux  Puissances  alliées  et  associées,  sera  adressée
au  Gouvernement  allemand  dans  le  mois  qui
suivra  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  Traité;

4%  La  Commission  des  réparations  prévue  à
Particle  240  et  aux  paragraphes  2,  3  et  4  de
T’Annexe  IV  ne  pourra  exiger  la  divulgation  de
sccrets  de  fabrication  ou  d'autres  renseignements
confidentiels;

5%  Des  la  signature  du  Traité  et  dans  les
quatre  mois  qui  suivront,  IAllemagne  aura  la
possibilité  de  présenter  à  T  examen  des  Puissances

PROTOCOI.

With  a  view  to  indicating  precisely  the  conditions
  in  which  certain  provisions  of  the  Treaty
of  even  date  are  to  be  carried  out,  it  is  agreed  by
#he  High  Contracting  Parties  that:

(1)  A  Commission  will  be  appointed  by  the
Principal  Allied  and  Associated  Powers  to  super-Vise
  the  doestruction  of  the  fortifications  of  Heligoland
  in  accordanee  with  the  Treaty.
This  Commission  will  be  authorized  to  decide
what  portion  of  the  works  protecting  the  coast
from  sena  erosion  are  to  be  maintained  and  what
Portion  must  be  destroyed;

(2)  Sums  reimbursed  by  Germany  to  German
nationals  to  indemnify  them  in  respect  of  the  interests
  which  they  may  be  found  to  possess  in
the  railways  and  mines  referred  to  in  the  second
Paragraph  of  Article  156  ahall  be  credited  to
Germany  against  the  sums  due  by  way  of  reparation;


(3)  The  list  of  persons  to  be  banded  over  to
the  Allied  and  Associated  Governments  by  Germany
  under  the  second  paragraph  of  Article  228
ehall  be  communicated  to  the  German  Government
  within  a  month  from  the  coming  into  force
of  the  Treaty;

(4)  The  Reparation  Commission  referred  to  in
Article  240  and  paragraphs  2,  3  and  4  of  Annex  IV
cannot  require  trade  secrets  or  other  confidential
information  to  be  divulged;

(5)  From  the  signature  of  the  Treaty  aud
within  the  ensuing  four  months  Germany  will  be
entitled  to  submit  for  examfnation  by  the  Allied
