PANAMA,  LE  PEROU,  LA  POLOGNE,  LE  POR.-TUGAL.
  LA  BROUMANIE,  L'ETAT  SERBE-CROATE-SLOVENE,
  LE  STAM,  LA  TCHECO-SLOVAQUIE
  et  L'URUGUAT,

Constituant  avec  les  Principales  Puissances  cidessus
  les  Puissançes  alliées  et  asscciéces,

d’une  part;
Et  LALLEMAGNE,
d’autre  part;

Considérant  qu'à  la  demande  du  Gouvernement
Impérial  Allemand,  un  Armistice  à  été  accordé  à
Abemegne  le  11  novembre  1918.  *PWP-  les  Princiales

  Puissances  allices  et  asscciées  afin  du  un
raité  de  paix  puisse  étre  conclu  avec  elle,

Considérant  qdue  les  Puissances  allices  et  associces
sont  également  désireuses  que  la  guerre,  dans  laqduelle
  elles  ont  sté  successivement  entrainées,
directement  ou  indirectement,  et  qui  a  son  origine
dans  la  déclaration  de  guerre  adressée  le  28  juillet
1914  par  I’Autriche-Hongrie  à  la  Serbie,  dans  les
declarations  de  guerre  adressées  Par  I’Allemagne
le  ler  aoũt  1914  à  la  Russie  et  le  3  aoũt  1914  à  la,
France,  et  dans  T’invasion  de  la-  Belgique,  fasse
place  à  une  Paix  solide,  juste  et  durable,

A  cet  effet,  les  HAUTES  PARTIES  CON-TRACTANTES
  représentées  comme  il  suit:

These  Powers  being  described  in  the  present
Treaty  as  the  Principal  Allied  and  Asscciated
Powers,

BELGIUM,  BOLIVIA,  BRAZIL,  CHINA,  CU.
BA,.ECUADOR,  GREECE,  GUALTEMALA,  HAITIL,
THE  HEDJAZ,  HONDURAS,  LIBERIA,  NICA-RAGUA,
  PANAMA,  PERU,  POLAND,  PORTU.
GAL,  ROUMANTIA,  THE  SERB-CROAT-SLO
VENE  STATE,  STAM,  CzZECHO-  SLOVAKLTA
and  URUGUALUK,

These  Powers  constituting  with  the  Principal
Powers  mentioned  above  the  Allied  and  Associated
  Powers,

of  the  one  part;

And  GERMANT#,

#of  the  other  part;

Bearing  in  mind  that  on  the  request  of  the
Imperial  German  Government  an  Armistice  was
granted  on  November  11,  1918,  to  Germany  by
the  Erincipal  Allied  and  Asscciated  Powers  in
order  that  a  Treaty  of  Peace  might  be  concluded
with  her,  and

The  Allied  and  Asscciated  Powers  bein  g  equally
desirous  that  the  war  in  which  they  were  successively
  involved  directly  or  indirectly  and  which
originated  in  the  declaration  of  war  by  Austria-Hur
  gary  on  July  28,  1914,  against  Serbia,  the
declaration  of  war  by  Germany  against  Russia
on  August  1,  1914,  and  sgainst  France  on  August  3,
1914,  and  in  the  invasion  of  Belgium,  should  be
replaced  by  a  firm,  just  and  durable  Peace,

For  this  purpose  tho  HIGH.  CONTRACTING
PARTIES  represented  as  follows:
