SECTION  II.
CHINE.

Article  128.

L'Allemagne  renonce,  en  faveur  de  la  Chine,  à
tous  privilèges  et  avantages  résultant  des  dis-Positions
  du  Protocole  final  signé  à  Pékin  le
7  septembre  1901,  ensemble  tous  annexes,  notes
et  documents  complémentaires.  Elle  renonce  égalements
  en  faveur  de  la  Chine,  à  toute  réclamation
d’indemnité  en  vertu  dudit  protocole  postérieurement
  au  14  mars  1917.

Article  129.

Des  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent  Traité,  les
Hautes  Parties  Contractantes  appliqueront,  chacune
  en  ce  qui  la  concerne:

1°  L'Arrangement  du  29  acüt  1902  relatif  aux
nouveaux  tarifs  douaniers  chinois:

2°  L'Arrangement  du  27  septembre  1905  relatif
à  Whang-Poo  et  L’arrangement  provisoire  complémentaire
  du  4  avril  1912.

Toutefois,  la  Chine  ne  sera  plus  tenue  d’accorder
à  PAllemagne  les  avantages  ou  privilèeges  qu’elle
lui  a  consentis  dans  ces  Arrangements.

Article  130.

Sous  réserve  des  dispositions  de  la  Section  VIII
de  la  présente  Partie,  IAllemagne  cède  à  la  Chine
tous  les  bätiments,  quais  et  appontements,  casernes,
forts,  armes  et  munitions  de  guerre,  navires  de
toutes  sortes,  installations  de  télégraphie  sans  fil
et  autres  propriétés  publiques,  appartenant  au
Gouvernement  allemand,  qui  sont  situés  ou  qui
peuvent  se  trouver  dans  les  concessions  allemandes
à  Tien-Tsin  et  à  Han-Kéou  ou  dans  les  autres
Parties  du  territoire  chinois.

I  est  entendu,  toutefois,  que  les  bätiments
eemployés  comme  résidences  ou  bureaux  diplomatiques
  ou  consulaires  ne  sont  pas  compris  dans
la  cession  ci-dessus;  en  outre,  aucune  mesure  ne
sera  prise  par  le  Gouvernement  chinois  pour  disposer
  des  propriétés  publiques  ou  privées  allemandes
situces  à  Pékin  dans  le  qduartier  dit  des  Légations,
sans  le  consentement  des  Représentants  diplomatiques
  des  Puissances  qdui,  à  la  mise  en  vigueur
du  présent  Traité,  restent  parties  au  Protocole
final  du  7  septembre  1901.

Article  131.

L'Allemagne  s'engage  à  rendre  à  la  Chine,  dans
un  délai  de  douze  mois  à  partir  de  la  mise  en  vigueur
  du  présent  Traité,  tous  les  instruments
astronomiques  que  ses  troupes  ont,  en  1900—1901,
enlevées  de  Chine.  L-Allemagne  s’engage  Sgalement

à  Payer  toutes  les  dépenses  qdui  pourront  advenir

pour  effectuer  cette  restitution,  y  compris  les  dépenses
  pour  les  démonter,  emballer,  transporter,
reinstaller  à  Pékin  et  couvrir  les  assurances.

SECTILON  II.
CHINA.5

Article  128.

Germany  rencunces  in  favour  of  China  all
benefits  and  privileges  resulting  from  the  provisions
  of  the  final  Protocol  signed  at  Peking  on
September  7,  1901,  and  from  all  annexes,
notes  and  documents  supplementary  thereto.  She
likewise  renounces  in  favour  of  China  any  claim
to  indemnities  accruing  thereunder  subsequent  to
March  14,  1917.

Article  129.

From  the  coming  into  force  of  the  present
Treaty  the  High  Contracting  Parties  shall  apply,
in  so  far  as  concerns  them  respectively:

(I.)  The  Arrangement  of  August  29,  1902,  regarding
  the  new  Chinese  customs  tariff;

(2.)  The  Arrangement  of  September  27,  1905,
regarding  Whang-Poo,  and  the  provisional  supplementary
  Arrangement  of  April  4,  1912.

China,  however,  will  no  longer  be  bound  to
grant  to  Germany  the  adrantaces  or  Pprivileges
which  she  allowed  Germany  under  these  Arrangements.


Article  130.

Subject  to  the  provisions  of  Section  VIII  of
this  Part,  Germany  cedes  to  China  all  the  buildings,
  wharves  and  ntoons,  barracks,  forts,
arms  and  munitions  *6  war,  vessels  of  all  kinds,
Wireless  telegraphy  installations  and  other  public
pProperty  belonging  to  the  German  Government,
which  are  situatec  or  may  be  in  the  German
Concessions  at  Tientsin  and  Hankow  or  elsewhere
in  Chinese  territory.

It  is  understocd,  however,  that  premises  used
as  diplomatic  or  consular  residences  or  offices
are  not  included  in  the  above  cession,  and,  furthermore,
  that  no  steps  shall  be  taken  by  the  Chinese
Government  to  dispose  of  the  German  public
and  private  property  situated  within  the  so-called.
Legation  Quarter  at  Peking  without  the  consent
of  the  Diplomatioc  Representatives  of  the  Powers
which,  on  the  coming  into  force  of  the  present
Treaty,  remain  Parties  to  the  Final  Protocol  of
September  7,  1901.

Article  131.

Germany  undertakes  to  restore  to  China  within
twelve  months  from  the  coming  into  force  of  the
present  Treaty  all  the  astronomical  instruments
which  her  troops  in  1900—  1901  carried  awa
from  China,  and  to  defray  all  expenses  whic
may  be  incurred  in  effecting  such  restoration,
including  the  expenses  of  dismounting,  packing,
transporting,  insurance  and  imstallation  in  Peking.
