EGTYPTE.

Article  147.

L'Allemagne  declare  reconnaltre  le  FErotectorat
proclamé  sur  I'’Egypte  par  la  Grande-Bretagne  le
18  décembre  1914  et  renoncer  au  régime  des  capitulations
  en  Egypte.

Cette  renonciation  prendra  date  du  4  acoüt  1914.

Article  148.

Tous  les  traités,  accords,  arrangements  ou  contrats
  passés  par  I’Allemagne  avec  I’Egypte,  sont
tenus  pour  abrogés  depuis  le  4  acoüt  1914.

En  aucun  cas,  I'’Allemagne  ne  pourra  se  prévaloir
  de  ces  actes  et  elle  s'engage  à  n’intervenir
en  aucune  faoçon  dans  les  nsspciations  qui  pourront
Avoir  lieu  entre  la  Grande-Bretagne  et  les  autres
Puissances  relativement  à  I’Egypte.

Article  149.

Jusqu'a  la  mise  en  vigueur  d’'une  Egislation
égyptienne  d’organisation  judiciaire,  constituant
des  cours  de  Complete  juridiction,  il  sera  pourvu,
*  voie  de  décrets  par  Sa  Hautesse  le  Sultan,  à
lexercice  de  la  juridiction  sur  les  ressortissants
allemands  et  sur  les  propriétés  par  les  tribunauz
consulaires  britanniques.

Article  150.

Le  Gouvernement  égyFptien  aura  une  enriere
liberté  d’action  pour  1r  er  le  statut  et  les  conditions
  de  l’'tablissement  des  ressortissants  allemands
  en  Egypte.

Article  151.

L'Allemagne  donne  son  agrémens  à  Tabrogation
ou  aux  modifications,  jugées  désirables  par  le
Gouvernement  Ggyptien,  du  décret  rendu  par
Son  Altesse  le  Khédive  le  28  novembre  1904
relativement  à  la  Commission  de  la  Dette  Publique

éCgyptienne.

Article  152.

L'Allemagne  consent,  en  ce  qui  la  concerne,
au  transfert  au  Gouvernement  de  Sa  Majesté
britannique  des  pouvoirs  conférés  à  Sa  Majesté
impériale  le  Sultan  par  la  Convention  signée  à
Constantinople  le  29  occtobre  1888  relativement
à  la  libre  navigation  du  Canal  de  Suez.

Elle  renonce  à  toute  participation  au  Conseil
sanitaire,  maritime  et  quarantenaire  d’Egypte  et
consent,  en  ce  qui  la  concerne,  au  transfert  aux
auterités  6gyptiennes  des  pouvoirs  de  ce  Conssil.

Article  153.

Tous  les  biens  et  propriétés  de  IEmpire  allemand
et  des  Etats  allemands  en  Egypte  passent  de  plein
droit  au  Gouvernement  égyptien,  sans  aucune
indemnité.

Article  147.

Germany  declares  that  she  recognises  the  Protectorate
  proclaimed  over  Egypt  by  Great  Britain
on  December  18,  1914,  and  that  she  renounces
the  rgéime  of  the  Capitulations  in  Egypt.

This  renunciation  shall  take  effect  as  from
August  4,  1914.

Article  148.

All  treaties,  agreements,  arrangements  and
contracts  Cconcluded  by  Germany  with  Egypt  are
regarded  as  abrogated  as  from  August  4,  1914.

In  no  case  can  Germany  avail  herself  of  these
instruments  and  she  undertakes  not  to  intervene
in  any  way  in  negotiations  relating  to  Egypt  which
may  take  place  between  Great  Britain  and  the
other  Powers.

Article  149.

Until  an  Egyptian  law  of  judicial  organi-Zation
  establishing  courts  with  universal  jurisdiction
  comes  into  force,  provision  shall  be  made,
by  means  of  decrees  issued  by  His  Highness  the
Sultan  for  the  exercise  of  jurisdiction  over  German
  nationals  and  property  by  the  British  Consular
  Tribunals.

Article  150.

The  Egyptian  Government  shall  have  complete
liberty  of  action  in  regulating  the  status  of  German
  nationals  and  the  conditions  under  which
they  may  establish  themselves  in  Egypt.

Ce  Article  51.

rmany  consents  to  the  abrogation  of
decree  issued  by  His  Highness  tae  Khedive
November  28,  1904,  relating  to  the  Commission
of  the  Egyptian  Public  Debt,  or  to  such  changes
as  the  Egyptian  Government  may  think  it  desirable
  to  make  therein.

Article  152.

Germany  Cconsents,  in  so  far  as  she  is  concerned,
  to  the  transfer  to  His  Britannic  Majestys
  Government  of  the  powers  conferred  on
His  Imperial  Majesty  the  Sultan  by  the  Convention
  signed  at  Constantinople  on  Cctober  29,
1888,  relating  to  the  free  navigation  of  the  Suez
Canal.

She  renounces  all  participation  in  the  Sanitary,
Maritime,  and  Quarantine  Board  of  Egypt  and.
Consents,  in  so  far  as  she  is  concerned,  to  the
transfer  to  the  Egyptian  Authorities  of  the  po-Wers
  of  that  Board.

Article  153.

A  property  and  possessions  in  Egypt  of  the
German  Empire  and  the  German  **  pass  to
the  Egyptian  Government  without  payment.
