SECTION  I.
PRISONNIERS  DE  GUERRE.

Article  214.

Le  rapatriement  des  prisonniers  de  guerre  et
internés  civils  aura  lieu  aussitöt  due  possible
apres  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent  Traité  et
sera  effectué  avec  la  plus  grande  rapidité.

Article  215.

Le  rapatriement  des  prisonniers  de  guerre  et
internés  civils  allemands  sera,  dans  les  conditions
fixzées  &amp;  I’article  214,  assuré  par  les  soins  d'une
Commission  composée  de  Représentants  des  Puissances
  alliées  et  asscciées  d’une  part  et  du  Gouvernement
  allemand  d’autre  part.

Pour  chacune  des  Puissances  alliées  et  associées,
  une  Sous-Commission  composée  uniquement
de  Représentants  de  la  Puissance  intéressee  et  de
Délégués  du  Gouvernement  allemand  réglera  les
detalls  d’exécution  du  rapatriement  des  prisonniers
  de  guerre.

Article  216.

Des  leur  remise  aux  mains  des  autorités  allemandes,
  les  prisonniers  de  guerre  et  internés  civils
  devront,  par  les  scins  de  ces  dernicères,  stre
sans  délai  renvoyés  leurs  foyers.

Ceux  d’entre  eux,  dont  le  domicile  d’avant--guerre
  se  trouve  sur  les  territoires  occupés  par
les  troupes  des  Puissances  allices  et  associées,  devront
  également  y  étre  renvoyés,  sous  réserve  de
PP’agrément  et  du  contröle  des  autorités  militaire
des  armeées  d’occupation  alliées  et  asscciées.

Article  217.

Tous  les  frais  résultant  de  ce  rapatriement,  à
partir  de  la  mise  en  route,  seront  à  la  charge  du
Gouvernement  allemand,  lequel  sera  tenu  de  fournir
  les  transports  par  terre  et  par  mer  ainsi  que  le
Personnel  technique,  qui  seront  considérés  comme
nécessaires  par  la  Commission  prévue  à  T’article  215.

Article  218.

Tes  prisonniers  de  guerre  et  internés  civils,
soit  passibles,  soit  frappés  de  peines  pour  fautes

PRISONERS  OF  WAR.

Article  214.

The  repatriation  of  prisoners  of  war  and  interned
civilians  shall  take  place  as  soon  as  possible  after
the  coming  into  force  of  the  present  Treaty  and
shall  be  carried  out  with  the  greatest  rapidity.

Article  215.

The  repatriation  of  German  prisoners  of  war
and  interned  civilians  shall,  in  accordance  with
article  214,  be  carried  out  by  a  Commission  composed
  of  representatives  of  the  Allied  and  Associated
  Powers  on  the  one  part  and  of  the  German
Government  on  the  other  part.

For  each  of  the  Allied  and  Asscciated  Powers
a  Sub-Commission,  composed  exclusively  of  Re-Pesettves
  #of  the  interestech  Power  and  of

elegates  of  the  German  Government,  shall
regulate  the  details  of  carrying  into  effect  the
repatriation  of  the  prisoners  of  war.

Article  216.

From  the  time  of  their  delivery  into  the  hands
of  the  German  authorities  the  prisoners  of  war
and  interned  civilians  are  to  be  returned  without
delay  to  their  homes  by  the  said  authorities.

Those  amongst  them  who  before  the  war  were
habitually  resident  in  territory  occupied  by  the
troops  of  the  Allied  and  Asscciated  Powers  are
likewise  to  be  sent  to  their  homes,  subject  to  the
consent  and  control  of  the  military  authorities
of  the  Allied  and  Associated  armies  of  occupation.

Article  217.

The  wbole  cost  of  repatriation  from  the  moment
#of  starting  shall  be  borne  by  the  German  Government
  who  shall  also  provide  the  land  and
sen  transport  and  staff  considered  necessary  by
the  Commission  referred  to  in  Article  215.

Article  218.

Prisoners  of  war  and  interned  civilians  awaiting
disposal  or  undergoing  sentence  for  offences
