Artiole  223.

L'Allemagne  s'engage  à  restituer  sans  dlai,
des  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent  Traité,  tous  les
objets,  valeurs  ou  documents  ayant  appartenu  à
des  ressortissants  des  Puissances  alliéces  ou  associces
  et  qui  auraient  été  retenus  par  des  autorités
allemandes.

Article  224.

Les  Hautes  Parties  Contractantes  deéclarent
renoncer  au  remboursement  réciproque  des  sommes
  dues  pour  I’entretien  des  prisonniers  de  guerre
sur  leurs  territoires  respectifs.

SECTITON  H.
SEPULTURES.

Article  225.

Les  Gouvernements  alliés  et  associés  et  le  Gou--vernement
  allemand  feront  respecter  et  entretenir
les  sépultures  des  soldats  et  marins  inhumés  sur
leurs  territoires  respectifs.  «

entretenir  ou  dliever  des  monuments  convenables
sur  lesdites  sépultures  et  à  faciliter  à  cette  Commission
  U’accomplissement  de  ses  devoirs.

IIs  conviennent  en  outre  de  se  donner  réciprodquement,
  sous  réserve  des  prescriptions  de  leur
Iégislation  nationale  et  des  nécessites  de  T’hygiene
publique,  toutes  facilités  pour  satisfaire  aux  demandes
  de  rapatriement  des  restes  de  leurs  soldats
et  de  leurs  marins.

Article  226.

Les  sépultures  des  prisonniers  de  guerre  et  internés
  civils,  ressortissants  des  différents  Etats
belligérants,  déecédésen  captivité,  seront  convenablement
  entretenues  dans  les  conditions  prévues  à
Tarticle  225  du  présent  Traité.

Les  Gouvernements  alliés  et  asscciés,  d’'une  part,
et  le  Gouvernement  allemand,  d’autre  part,  s'engagent
  en  outre  à  se  fournir  réciproquement:

1%  La  liste  complete  des  décédés  avec  tous
renseignements  utiles  à  leur  identification;

2e°  Toutes  indications  sur  le  nombre  et  I’emplacement
  des  tombes  de  tous  les  morts  enterrés  sans
identification.

Article  223.

Germany  undertakes  to  restore  without  delay
from  the  date  of  the  coming  into  force  of  the
Present  Treaty  all  articles,  money,  securities  and
documents  which  have  belonged  to  nationals  of
the  Allied  and  Asscciated  Powers  and  which
have  been  retained  by  the  German  authorities.

Article  224.

The  High  Contracting  Parties  waive  reei-Procally
  all  repayment  of  sums  due  for  the  maintenance
  of  prisoners  of  war  in  their  respective
territories.

SECTITLON  IH.
GBRAVES.

Article  225.

The  Allied  and  Asscciated  Governments  and
the  German  Government  will  cause  to  be  respected
and  maintained  the  graves  of  the  soldiers  and
sailors  buried  in  their  respective  territories.

They  agree  to  recognise  any  Commission  appointed
  rnt.  *  Allied  or  Associated  Government  for
the  purpose  of  identifying,  registering,  caring
for  or  erecting  suitable  memorials  over  the  said
graves  and  to  facilitate  the  discharge  of  its  duties.

Furthermore  they  agree  to  afford,  so  far  as
the  provisions  of  their  laws  and  the  requirements
of  public  health  allow,  every  facility  for  giving
effect  to  requests  that  the  bodies  of  their  soldiers
  and  sailors  may  be  transferred  to  their
own  country.

Article  226.

The  graves  of  prisoners  of  war  and  interned
civilians  who  are  nationals  of  the  different  belligerent
  States  and  have  died  in  captivity  shall
be  properly  maintained  in  accordance  with  Article
225  of  the  present  Treaty.

The  Allied  and  Associated  Governments  on
the  one  part  and  the  German  Governments  on  the
other  part  reciprocally  undertake  also  to  furnish
to  each  other:

1.  A  complet-  list  of  those  who  have  died
together  with  all  information  useful  for  identification;


2.  All  information  as  to  tbe  number  and  ition
of  the  graves  of  all  those  who  have  been  buried
without  identification.
