tuels,  ou  non  encore  exercés,  et  renoncera  en
faveur  des  Puissances  allices  et  associées,  en  son
nom  et  en  celui  de  ses  ressortissants,  à  tous  droits
et  intersts  susvisés  qui  n’auraient  pas  été  mentionnés
sur  la  liste  ci-dessus.

Article  261.

L'’Allemagne  s'’engage  à  transférer  aux  Puissances
  allices  et  associées  toutes  ses  crances  sur
I.  Autriche,  la  Hongrie,  la  Bulgarie  et  la  Turquie,
et  notamment  celles  qui  résultent  ou  résulteront
pour  elle  de  Pexécution  des  engagements  qu’elle
a  Ppris  envers  ces  Puissances  pendant  la  guerre.

Article  262.

Toute  obligation  de  Allemagne  de  payer  en
especes,  en  exécution  du  présent  Traité,  et  ex-Primée
  en  marks  or,  sera  payable  au  choix  des
créanciers  en  livres  sterling  payvables  à  Londres,
dollars  or  des  Etats-Unis  payables  à  New.  Vork,
francs  or  payables  à  Paris  et  lires  or  payables  à
Rome.

Aux  fins  du  présent  article,  les  monnaies  or
ci-dessus  sont  convenues  etre  du  poids  et  du
titre  légalement  établies  au  ler  janvier  1914  pour
chacune  d’entre  elles.

Article  263.

L’Allemagne  garantit  au  Gouvernement  brésilien
  le  remboursement,  avec  intéeréèt  au  taux  ou
aux  taux  qui  ont  é6té  convenues,  de  toutes  sommes
déposées  la  banque  Bleichroeder  à  Berlin,
provenant  de  la  vente  de  cafés  appartenant  à
Etat  de  Sao-Paulo  dans  les  ports  de  Hambourg,
Bréme,  Anvers  et  Trieste.  L'Allemagne  s'étant
opposée  au  transfert  en  temps  utile  desdites
sommes  àl’Etat  de  Sao-Paulo,  garantit  éCgalement
que  le  remboursement  sera  effectué  au  taux  du
change  du  mark  au  jour  du  dépot.

Article  261.

Germany  undertakes  to  transfer  to  the  Allied
and  Associated  Powers  any  claims  she  may  have
to  Payment  or  repayment  by  the  Governments  of
Austria,  Hungary,  Bulgaria  or  Turkey,  and,  in
perticuler:  any  claims  which  may  arise,  now  or

ereafter,  from  the  fulfilment  of  undertakings  made
b?  Germany  during  the  war  to  those  Governments.

Article  262.

Any  monetary  obligation  due  by  Germany
arising  out  of  the  present  Treaty  and  expressed
in  terms  of  gold  marks  shall  be  payable  at  the
option  of  the  creditors  in  pounds  sterling  payable
in  London;  gold  dollars  of  the  United  States  of
America  payable  in  New  Tork;  gold  francs  payable
  in  Paris;  or  gold  lire  payable  in  Rome.

For  the  purpose  of  this  Article  the  gold  coins
mentioned  above  shall  be  defined  as  being  of  the
weight  and  fineness  of  gold  as  enacted  by  law  on
January  1,  1914.

Article  263.

Germany  gives  a  guarantee  to  the  Braszilian
Government  that  all  sums  representing  the  sale
of  coffee  belonging  to  the  State  of  Sao  Paclo  in
the  ports  of  Hamburg,  Bremen,  Antwerp  and
Trieste,  which  were  deposited  with  the  Bank  of
Bleichröder  at  Berlin,  shall  be  reimbursed  together
with  interest  at  the  rate  or  rates  agreed  upon.
Germany,  having  prevented  the  transfer  of  the
sums  in  question  to  the  State  of  Sao  Paolo  at  the
Proper  time,  guarantees  also  that  the  reimbursement
  shall  be  effected  at  the  rate  of  exchange
of  the  day  of  the  deposit.
