par  les  Puissances  allibes  et  asscciées,  et  dans  lesduelles
  1·Allemagne  sera  représentee.  Ces  Commissions
  devront  prendre  en  considération  l’impor--tance
  du  matériel  immatriculé  sur  ces  lignes,
d’'apres  le  dernier  inventaire  au  11  novembre  1918,
la  longueur  des  voies,  y  Ccompris  les  voies  de  service,
la  nature  et  l’importance  du  trafic.  Elles  désigneront
  Sgalement  les  locomotives,  voitures  et  wagons
à  céder  dans  chaque  cas,  fixeront  les  conditions
de  leur  réception  et  régleront  les  arrangements  proviscires
  nécessaires  pour  assurer  leur  réparation
dans  les  ateliers  allemands.

4°  Les  approvisionnements,  le  mobilier  et  I’outillage
  seront  livré  dans  les  mémes  conditions  que
le  matériel  roulant.  »

CHAPITRE  TV.

DlSPOSTTITONS  CONCERNANT  CERTAINES  LIGNES
DE  CHEMINS  DE  FER.
Article  372.

Sous  réserve  des  stipulations  particulières  contenues
  dans  le  Présent  Traité,  lorsque,  par  suite
du  tracé  des  nouvelles  frontières,  une  ligne  reliant
deux  parties  d'un  meme  pays  traversera  un  autre
pays,  ou  lorsqu'fune  ligne  d’embranchement  partant
  d’'un  pays  se  terminera  dans  un  autre,  les  conditions
  diekpiitztion  seront  réglées  par  un  arrangement
  conclu  entre  les  Administrations  des  chemins
de  fer  intéressées.  Au  cas  on  ces  Administrations
ne  parviendraient  pas  à  se  mettre  d’accord  sur  les
conditions  de  cet  arrangement,  les  conflits  seraient
tranchés  par  des  Commissions  d’'experts  constituées
  Ccomme  il  est  dit  à  Iarticle  précédent.

Article  373.

Dans  le  délai  de  cind  ans,  à  compter  de  la  mise
en  vigueur  du  présent  Traité,  I’Etat  tchéco-slovaque
  pourra  demander  la  construction  d'une  voie
ferrée  reliant,  sur  le  territoire  allemand,  les  stations
de  Schlauney  et  de  Nachod.  Les  frais  de  construction
  seront  à  la  charge  de  1’Etat  tchéco-slovaque.

Article  374.

L'Allemagne  s'engage  à  accepter,  dans  le  délai
de  dix  ans  à  dater  de  la  mise  en  vigueur  du  présent
Traité,  et  sur  la  demande  qui  lui  en  serait  faite
Par  le  Gouvernement  helvétique  apreès  accord  avec
le  Gouvernement  italien,  la  dénonciation  de  la
Convention  internationale  du  13  octobre  1909,
relative  au  chemin  de  fer  du  Saint-Gothard.  A
défaut  d’accord  sur  les  conditions  de  cette  dénonciation,
  I'Allemagne  s'’engage,  des  à  présent,  à  accepter
  la  décision  d’un  arbitre  désigné  par  les
Etats-Unis  d'’Amrique.

shall  be  represented,  shall  fix  the  proportion
of  the  stock  existing  on  the  system  to  wbhich
those  lines  belong  to  be  handed  over.  These
Commissions  shall  have  regard  to  the  amount  of
the  material  registered  on  these  lines  in  the  last
inventory  before  November  11,  1918,  the  length
of  track  (sidings  included),  and  the  nature  and
amount  of  the  traffic.  These  Commissions  shall
also  Specify  the  locomotives,  carriages  and  wagons
to  be  handed  over  in  each  case;  they  shall  decide
upon  the  conditions  of  their  acceptance,  and  shall
make  the  provisional  arrangements  necessary  to
ensure  their  repair  in  German  workshops.

4.  Stocks  of  stores,  fittings  and  plant  shall  be
handed  over  under  the  same  conditions  as  the
rolling-stock.

The  provisions  of  paragraphs  3  and  4  above
shall  be  applied  to  the  lines  of  former  Russian
Poland  converted  by  Germany  to  the  German
gauge,  such  lines  being  regarded  as  detached  from
the  Prussian  State  System.

CHAPTER  IV.

PROVISIONS  RELATING  TO  CERTAIN
RAILWAV  LINES.
Article  372.

When  as  a  result  of  the  fixing  of  new  frontiers
  a  railway  connection  between  two  parts  of
the  same  country  erosses  another  country,  or  a
branch  line  from  one  country  has  its  terminus  in
another,  the  conditions  of  working,  if  not  specifically
  provided  for  in  the  present  Treaty,  shall
be  laid  down  in  a  convention  between  the  railway
administrations  concerned.  If  the  administrations
Cannot  come  to  an  agreement  as  to  the  terms  of
such  convention,  the  points  of  difference  shall  be
decided  by  commissions  of  experts  Ccomposed  as
Provided  in  the  preceding  Article.

Article  373.

Within  a  period  of  five  years  from  the  coming
into  force  of  the  present  Treaty  the  Czecho-Slovak
  State  may  require  the  construction  of  a  rail-Way
  line  in  German  territory  between  the  stations
  of  Schlauney  and  Nachod.  The  cost  of  construction
  shall  be  borne  by  the  Czecho-Slovak
State.

Article  374.

Germany  undertakes  to  accept,  within  ten
years  of  the  coming  into  force  of  the  present
Treaty,  on  request  being  made  by  the  Swiss
Government  after  agreement  with  the  ltalian
Government,  the  denunciation  of  the  lnternational
  Convention  of  October  13,  1909,
relative  to  the  St.  Gothard  railway.  In  the  absence
of  agreement  as  to  the  conditions  of  such  denunciation,
  Germany  herebr  agrees  to  accept  the
decision  of  an  arbitrator  designated  by  the  United.
States  of  America.
