Welche, nach Mitteilung ihrer in guter 
und gehöriger Form befundenen Voll- 
machten, über nachstehende Artikel über- 
eingekommen sind: 
Artikel I. 
In Übereinstimmung mit der dem 
Präsidenten durch Sektion 3 des Zoll- 
tarifgesetzes der Vereinigten Staaten von 
Amerika vom 24. Juli 1897 erteilten Er- 
mächtigung wird seitens der Vereinigten 
Staaten von Amerika zugestanden, daß 
vom Tage des Inkrafttretens dieses Ab- 
kommens an die folgenden Boden- und 
Gewerbserzeugnisse Deutschlands bei ihrer 
Einfuhr nach den Vereinigten Staaten 
von Amerika den in der gedachten Sek- 
tion 3 erwähnten ermäßigten Zollsätzen 
unterworfen werden, nämlich: 
Roher Weinstein und rohe Weinhefe 
fünf Prozent. 
Branntwein oder andere aus Getreide 
oder anderen Materialien hergestellte oder 
destillierte Spirituosen für eine Gallone 
von Normalstärke ein Dollar und fünf- 
undsiebenzig Cent. 
Champagner und alle anderen Schaum- 
weine in Flaschen von nicht mehr als 
1 Quart, aber mehr als 1 Pint sechs 
Dollar für das Dutzend; in Flaschen 
von nicht mehr als 1 Pint, aber mehr 
als ½ Pint drei Dollar für das Dutzend; 
in Flaschen von ½ Pint oder weniger 
ein Dollar fünfzig Cent für das 
Dutzend; in Flaschen oder anderen Ge- 
fäßen von mehr als 1 Quart als Zu-

Article I. 
In conformity with the authority 
conterred on the bresident of the 
United States in Section 3 ofthe Tariff 
Act of the United States approved 
July 24, 1897, it is ugreed on the 
Part of the United States that the 
kollo wing products of the soil and 
industry ol Germany) imported into 
the United States shall, from and 
after the (late when this Agreement 
Shall be put in lorce, be subject to 
the reduced Tariff rates provided 
bSsaid Section 3. as lollows: 
Argols, or erude tartar, or wine 
lees, crude, five per centum ad 
valorem. 
Brandies, or other Spirits manu- 
factured or distillel from grain or 
]other materials, one dollar and se- 
venty-five cents per proof gallon. 
Champagne and all other Spark- 
ling wines, in bottles containing not 
more than one (j#uart and more than 
one Pint. six dollars per dozen; con- 
taining not more than one pint each 
and more than one-half pint, three 
dollars per dozen; containing one- 
half pint cach or less, one dollar 
and fili cents per dozen: in bottles 
or other vessels containing more
