fördern, anderenfalls aber den Inhalt ent- 
sprechend abändern. 
Artikel 5. 
Unterthanen der contrahirenden Deutschen 
Staaten, die in Siam ihren Wohnsitz auf- 
schlagen wollen, dürfen dieses vorerst nur 
in der Stadt Bangkok oder innerhalb eines 
Bezirkes thun, dessen Grenzen, übereinstim- 
mend mit den Festsetzungen der übrigen 
zwischen Siam und den fremden Mächten 
geschlossenen Verträge, folgende sind: 
Im Norden: der Bangputsa Canal, von 
seiner Mündung in den Tschaubja Fluß bis 
an die alten Mauern der Stadt Lopburi, 
und eine gerade Linie von dort bis zum 
Landungeplatze Pragnam am Flusse Passack 
in der Nähe der Stadt Sarabburi. 
Im Osten: Eine gerade Linie vom Lan- 
dungsplatze Pragnam bis nach dem Zusam- 
menflusse des Klongkut Canals mit dem Flusse 
Bangpakong, und dieser Fluß bis zu seiner 
Mundung. Auf dem Küstenstrich zwischen 
dem Bangpakong und der Insel Simaha= 
radschah soll es Deutschen Unterthanen frei- 
stehen, sich an allen Orten niederzulassen, 
die nicht mehr als vier und zwanzig Stun- 
den von Bangkok entfernt sind. 
Im Süden: die Insel Simaharadschah, 
die Sitschang-Inseln und die Mauern von 
Petschaburi. 
Auf der Westseite des Golfs sollen sich 
Deutsche Unterthanen in Petschaburi, und 
von dort bis zum Meklong Flusse überall 
bper terms, or else shall modif) its con 
tents. 
Article 5. 
Subjects of the contractiog German 
States, who ma# wish to take up their 
residence in Siam, shall for the present 
do so only in the city of Bangkok or 
within a district, he boundaries of which, 
in accordance with the provisions of the 
other treaties concluded between Siam 
and foreign Powers, are as follows: 
On the North: the Bangputsa canal 
from its junction with the Chowpya river 
up to the old walls ol the town of Lob- 
pury, and a straight line from thence to 
the Pragnam landingplace near the town 
of Saraburi on the river Pasak. 
On the East: a straight line drawn 
from the Pragnam laudingplace to the 
junction of the Klongkut canal with the 
Bangpakong river: and this river from 
thence to its mouth. — On the coast 
between the Bangpakong and the island 
of Simaharajsah German subjects mar 
settle at any places within a distance of 
twenty four hours from Bangkok. 
On the South: the island of Simaha 
rajah; the Seechang islands, and the Citr 
walls of Petchaburi. 
On the Western coast ol the Gulf 
German citizens ma) settle at Detchaburi.
