Berliner Konferenz beschriebenen geographischen
Congobeckens, wie dieselbe auf der dem
den Tanganika-See folgt.

Der Lauf der vorgedachten Grenze ist im
Allgemeinen nach Maßgabe einer Karte des
Nyassa-Tanganika-Plateaus angegeben, welche
im Jahre 1889 amtlich für die britische Re-Hlerung
  angefertigt wurde.

3. Im Westen durch eine Linie, welche
von der Mündung des Flusses Kilambo bis
zum 1. Grad südlicher Breite mit der Grenze
des Congostaates zusammenfällt.

Das Großbritannien zur Geltendmachung

seines Einflusses vorbehaltene Gebiet wird
begrenzt:

1 —

the south ofl the selected parallel the line
shall be deflected so as to exclude it, but
shall nevertheless return so us 10 terminate
at the above-named point.

2. To the south by a line which, starting
on the coast at the northern limit of the
Province of Mozambiquc, follows the course
of he River Rovuma to the point of con-Huence
of the Msinje: thence it runs westward
along the Purallel of that point till it
renches Lake Nyassa: theucc, striking northward,
it follows the eustern, northern and
western shores of the lake to the northern
bank of the mouth of the river Songwee; it
ascends that river tho the point okl its intersection
  by  the  3  u  degrec  ol  enst  longitude;
thonce it follows the river to the point where
it appronches most nearly the boundary of
the geographicul Congo-basin defined in the
first Article of the act of Berlin, us marked
in the map uttached to the 9#½ Drotocol of
the Conference; from that point it strikes
direct tho the above-named boundary; and
follows it to the point of its intersection by
the 32½ degree ol enst longitude; from which
boint it strikes direct to the point of confluence
of the northern and sonthern branches
of the river Kilambo; and thence follows
that river till it enters Lake Tanganyika.

The course of the ubove boundary is
traced in general accordance with a map of
the Nyassa- Tanganyika Plateau ofliciall
prepured for the British Government in 1889.

3. To the west Dy u line which, from the
mouth of the river Kilambo to the 1K parallel
ol south latitude, is conterminous with
the Congo Free State.

The sphere in which the exercise of influence
is reserved to Great Britain is
bounded:
